ARC Raiders Update Shows Embark Studios Is Listening to the

Live-service multiplayer games succeed when developers respond quickly to player feedback, and ARC Raiders is starting to prove exactly why that approach matters. Embark Studios recently released another update focused on customization, economy balancing, and technical improvements, giving players a better look at how the studio plans to support the game long term.

Although the latest changes are not massive content expansions, they directly target some of the most discussed topics within the community. From storage pricing adjustments to new cosmetic variants, the update demonstrates that Embark Studios is carefully monitoring how players interact with the game’s progression systems.

One of the most noticeable additions is the arrival of two new color variants for the Leviathan Set. Players can now access Midnight and Crimson Frost versions through the in-game store, giving the popular armor set a fresh visual style. More importantly, existing Leviathan owners automatically unlock both variants instantly without restarting the game.

This small quality-of-life improvement may sound minor, but it reflects a player-friendly philosophy that many gamers appreciate. In live-service shooters, smooth cosmetic integration can significantly improve the overall experience because players spend so much time customizing their characters and loadouts.

Customization has become increasingly important in ARC Raiders because of the game’s intense PvPvE structure. Since players constantly encounter rival squads during extraction runs, unique cosmetics help create recognizable identities within the game world. Whether players prefer stealth-focused scavengers or heavily armored survivors, visual customization adds personality to every expedition.

The biggest gameplay impact from the update, however, comes from the changes to Expedition Vault pricing. After reviewing gameplay data and early community feedback surrounding Ermal’s arrival in Speranza, Embark Studios decided to dramatically reduce the cost of higher vault tiers.

Previously, players needed increasingly large amounts of currency to unlock additional storage levels. Tier prices scaled aggressively all the way up to 1,000,000 credits for the highest upgrade. Under the new system, every tier beyond T1 now costs only 200,000 credits.

The updated structure now looks far more accessible for active players:

T1 remains unchanged at 200,000 credits

T2 reduced from 400,000 to 200,000

T3 reduced from 600,000 to 200,000

T4 reduced from 800,000 to 200,000

T5 reduced from 1,000,000 to 200,000

The developers explained that the adjustment is intended to encourage more player trading throughout the game’s economy. Lower vault costs make it easier for players to store equipment, crafting materials, and valuable Arc Raiders Items without spending weeks saving currency for storage upgrades.

This economy shift could significantly change player behavior. Raiders may become more willing to take risks during extraction runs if inventory pressure feels less restrictive. Instead of hoarding currency for vault progression, players can focus more on experimenting with gear, trading resources, and participating actively in the marketplace.

Ermal’s updated weekly offers are also contributing to increased marketplace activity. Starting at 6am PDT, players gained access to a fresh set of store deals designed to keep the in-game economy moving. Rotating offers create additional incentives for players to log in regularly and monitor limited-time opportunities.

Beyond progression balancing, Embark Studios also acknowledged ongoing technical concerns affecting players on multiple platforms. Xbox users have continued reporting crashes, while PC players experienced FPS issues after update 1.29.0. The studio confirmed it is actively investigating both problems and working toward permanent solutions.

This level of communication matters greatly in modern multiplayer games. Players generally remain more patient when developers openly discuss issues and provide regular updates about fixes. Embark Studios appears committed to maintaining that relationship with the ARC Raiders community.

The developers also reminded players that future live updates may function differently compared to traditional live-service models. Earlier development blogs already mentioned changes to update scheduling and delivery, suggesting the studio wants a more flexible approach to ongoing content support.

As ARC Raiders continues evolving, balancing progression systems and player economy will remain critical for long-term success. Reduced vault costs, rotating cosmetic offers, and improved accessibility all point toward a game becoming more responsive to its community.
